The qualification period for KLM Personal Assistance is going to change

For new KLM Personal Assistance customers, we have switched to a policy at the end of 2024 whereby the qualification period for KLM Personal Assistance, currently from 1 January to 31 December, will coincide with the qualification period for Flying Blue Platinum. This means that for the KLM Personal Assistance qualification period, we will no longer follow calendar years, but the Flying Blue Platinum qualification period.

Nothing will change for you in 2025: if you save at least another 400 UXP on flights with a KLM or Air France flight number between 1 January and 31 December, that is, in the 2025 calendar year, the KLM Personal Assistance service will be extended for another year, from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.

Starting in 2026, KLM Personal Assistance will no longer be based on the calendar year from 1 January to 31 December, but on your Flying Blue Platinum qualification period in 2025-2026.

If you re-qualify for KLM Personal Assistance during that period, your new KLM Personal Assistance service period will commence one month after qualification, for another year.

In addition to a change in the qualification period, there is another new feature: the introduction of the KLM Personal Assistance surplus. If you have saved more than 400 UXP, the number you need for the KLM Personal Assistance service, you can carry over this surplus (up to a maximum of 400 UXP) to your next qualification period.

Please note: the KLM Personal Assistance surplus does not count towards your Flying Blue Ultimate level and is therefore not visible on your UXP counter.
